November 19, 2025 - The City of Center Public Water System, PWS #2100001, will be conducting water system maintenance beginning January 1, 2026, and lasting until January 31, 2026. The system will be switching to free chlorine as its main disinfection.

This maintenance which is not a requirement, but is the recommended course of action set by the TCEQ/EPA for the accumulation of disinfection byproducts.

October 24, 2024 - The City of Center was recently awarded an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) through the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO).

July 19, 2023 - The Dixie Youth Regional World Series kicks off activities July 19, 2023.  The entire community is invited to the opening ceremonies at Roughrider Stadium beginning at 7:30 with fireworks show immediately after.

July 18, 2022 - Drought conditions are widespread across the state. The City of Center is experiencing mild drought conditions with no rain forecast in the near future. We encourage all citizens to help conserve our precious water resources. The City of Center is asking residents to assist the City with conserving water based on the City’s Drought Contingency Plan.
