June 29, 2026 – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has launched This is Texas Water, the statewide water public awareness campaign for Texas. The initiative is designed to inspire Texans to better understand their water—where it comes from, how much their communities will need in the future, and the infrastructure and planning required to ensure long-term water security.

Water Supply Receives Funds for Water System Improvements
December 17, 2025 – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $2,262,970 to the Paxton Water Supply Corporation (Shelby County), consisting of $2,262,970 in principal forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). The Corporation will use the assistance for the planning, acquisition, design, and construction of a water system improvement project.
February 17, 2025 – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is accepting applications through March 19 for Fiscal Year 2025 Agricultural Water Conservation Grants. Up to $1,500,000 in grant funding is available to eligible political subdivisions and state agencies for agricultural water conservation projects that improve irrigation efficiency, enhance resilience to weather extremes and climate variability, and promote innovation in agriculture.
July 12, 2023 - The 88th Texas Legislative Session (2023) generated several bills focused on addressing water supply needs and flood mitigation efforts in Texas, as well as the science and planning that contribute. Many of these legislative efforts impact and support the work being done by the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), the state's water and flood planning, science, and financing agency.
January 20, 2023 - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has opened the abridged application period for the 2023 funding cycle of the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas (SWIFT) program.* Abridged applications will be due on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
