November 23, 2022 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society (PWPS) held their November meeting this past Saturday. The November challenge was "Perspective." These photos were taken using different angles to enhance the viewing perspective of each photo. Members are able to submit up to three of their photos for discussion and favorites voting.
Favorites are:

November 21, 2022 - Operation Blue Santa has a new Community event coming up! Everyone loves to decorate for Christmas, but lets make a contest out of it make it for a good cause.
Join in the Holiday Festivities by decorating your storefront/windows or entryways. All funds go towards Operation Blue Santa’s Toy Drive helping us to make a child’s Christmas blessed this year. Entry fees are $100 per business, and open to all Shelby County businesses.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cash prize winners with receive a certificate of bragging rights. All entries need to be submitted by 4pm on December 1st, with voting to be done on December 5th by Operation Blue Santa and CPD Ladies Auxiliary committee. Inside or Outside display as long as it is visible to the public.
Pictures of the entries will be posted on the Operation Blue Santa Facebook page. Payments can be Cash/Check or Paypal @BlueSantaCPD Applications can be picked up at the Center Police Department, 1020 Shelbyville Street, or email a request to Alindley@centertexas.org or mail to P.O. Box 322, Center, Tx 75935.
November 17, 2022 - Patsy Handy, Democrat Party Chair, would like to thank all those who helped provide a free barbecue plate after school for kids ages Pre-K3 to 12th grade on Wednesday at Perry Sampson Park.
Thank you to Richard and Linda Lundie, precinct 8 chair in Tenaha; Earsie and Milton Horton, precinct 4 chair in Huxley; and George Grace, precinct 9 chair in Timpson. Special thanks to Nicole Ellington for getting the word out to the parents about the event and the students that came by for a plate. Also, thank you to Doris and Iretta for assisting.

November 16, 2022 - On November 15, members of Center Garden Club attended the viewing of Meet Me In St. Louis at the Robinson Film Center in Shreveport. Following the movie attendees enjoyed a BBQ meal in which St.Louis is known for. The outing was lots of fun and CGC members look forward to many other adventures in the future.

November 7, 2022 - The Walker family would like to thank our family, friends, co-workers, and community for the outpouring of love and prayers during this very difficult time in our lives.
Our hearts are overwhelmed and words cannot truly express our appreciation for all the prayers, visits, texts, calls, cards, food, and love shown to us through this time.
Special thank you to Josh Tipton, Taylor Fanguy, and Billy Lusk for the hard job you had and the compassion you showed. Thank you Bro. Fred Wilcox and Bro. Eric Pledger for praying with our family as we received the news.

November 1, 2022 - K9 Nyx was very excited to assist Officer Brian Wright in drawing for the winning ticket of our Gun raffle. Congratulations Marla Denby in winning the Ruger 300 Blackout. 255 of the 300 tickets were sold.

October 28, 2022 - Center Health and Harmony celebrated its 10th Anniversary with members of the community and the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Friday, October 21.
Deborah Chadwick, Shelby County Chamber of Commerce President, congratulated businesses owner Beth Brown on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and presented her a 10th Anniversary plaque. Brown said she appreciated everyone attending the event and for their support.
"I'm just so happy to be here, I'm going to be here 10 more at least, so y'all keep coming back," said Brown.
