City of Tenaha Governing Body Notice of Meeting, Jan. 26 Agenda

January 26, 2026 - Meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, February 2, 2026.


January 20, 2026 - Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the governing body of the City of Tenaha will be held on the 26th day of January 2026 at 5:30pm at the Tenaha Municipal Building, 238 North George Bowers Drive, Tenaha, Texas, for the Regular Meeting at which time the following subjects will be considered, to wit: 

1. Call to Order and establish a quorum 

2. Invocation

3. Pledge

4. Citizens Input: This time it is provided for members of the public to address the City Council on items that appear within the agenda, or a matter not listed on the agenda. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. A Citizens Input Form must be filled out and filed with the City Secretary prior to the meeting. 

a. (Be advised that the Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the City Council from taking formal action, discussion, deliberation, or comment on citizen input for a matter not listed on the agenda. The law authorizes the following: make a statement of factual information, recite existing policy, advise that a subject be placed on the agenda for a subsequent meeting. Citizens should not engage in shouting, unruly behavior, defamation, personal attacks, profanity, or threats of any kind. Comments shall be addressed to the Mayor and Council. Citizens who violate these rules will be asked to cease the violation and if the violation continues, they will be asked to leave the meeting.)

6. Discussion and possible action on approving the minutes for the December 2025 City Council Meeting(s). 

7. Discussion and possible action on approving the financials for December 2025.

8. Discussion and possible action on Declaring 2026 as the “Year of the Volunteer”. (Proclamation)

9. Discussion and possible action on ordering a General Election (SOS Form 1-2) to be held on Saturday May 2, 2026, for City Council (2) Seats and Mayor office.

10. Discussion and possible action on approving A Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance.

11. Discussion and possible action on approving the Investment Policy and Strategy. 

12. Discussion and possible action on designating “The Light and Champion” as the official newspaper of the city for 2025-2026. (Resolution)

13. Discussion and possible action on awarding the bid for the TXCDBG EST Rehabilitation CDV23-0110 in the amount of $485,645.00 to I&S Tank Services, LLC. 

14. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time. A total does not exceed 10 minutes will be devoted to these reports.
