Library Summer Reading Program Celebrates America's 250th Birthday

June 25, 2026 - The Summer Reading program at the Fannie Brown Booth Library continued this week. Our summer program theme is "Unearth A Story." The program this week at the library was titled "Celebrate America's 250th!" and told the story of America.

A program for children ages 6-13 was presented, featuring educational activities, art, and puzzle activities. The program focused on American History and Landmarks. Craft activities included making an American heart bookmark and a paper firework craft.

Children were given a map of the USA and pictures of landmarks to test their knowledge of famous American places. The adults were also included in this activity and offered assistance as needed. The program ended with a big cheer for America and a video of music and fireworks.

Craft activities are offered during the week. Next week's program will feature Mike Corry, the magician, at 10:30 on Thursday, July 2. Contact the library at 936-598-5522 for more information.

The Summer Reading Programs are sponsored by the Center Noon Lions Club.
