David's Daily Devotion for March 24

March 24, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, March 24.

Today we’re talking about prayer and pharmacy! There are approximately 300,000 pharmacists in America and, over the years, I’ve counted two of them as my friends. One word describes their jobs - busy! My first friend was a member of my church choir and a druggist for Walmart. I remember him telling me how the time he spent with each customer was closely monitored by his supervisor. This was very frustrating for him, as he wanted to have the time to be personal, to be sensitive, to show care.

David's Daily Devotion for March 23

March 23, 2022 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, March 23.

Yesterday, here in Shelby County, it was "raining cats and dogs!" That phrase, as I'm sure you know, is an idiom - a set of words peculiar to a particular language, words that are not understood by their literal meanings, but by metaphor and cultural tradition. If you're learning English, you probably know what "cat" means and what "dog" means - but that doesn't help you understand that "raining cats and dogs" means it's really coming down out there!

David's Daily Devotion for March 22

March 22, 2022 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, March 22.

Karl Wallenda was born in Germany in 1890 to a circus acrobat family. In 1928 these high-wire performers came to America and "The Flying Wallenda's" soon became one of the top acts under the Big Top. In the 1940's Karl perfected the daring "Seven Man Pyramid", a feat so dangerous that no one else had ever even attempted it. The public stood up and cheered.

David’s Daily Devotion, March 21

March 21, 2022 - Good Morning!  It’s Monday, March 21.

If you grew up in church, like I did, you’re probably familiar with “churchy” words. These are terms from the language Churchese that are typically not used in everyday life. One of these is the word “fellowship”. You would never say this to your office colleagues, “Let’s get together after work for fellowship!” But at church we have fellowship groups that have fellowships in Fellowship Halls.

David’s Daily Devotion, March 18

March 18, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, March 18.

This Sunday is the first day of spring! And we continue our series of devotions about creation and our Creator leading to that happy holiday.

Spring is a season of renewal, of regeneration, of beginnings. Each day, if our eyes are open, God will show us something new. The grass is greening up, the flowers are blooming, the trees are exploding with color. Praises to our Creator!

Genesis 1:1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

David's Daily Devotion for March 14

March 14, 2022 - Good Morning. It’s Monday, March 14.

Today my subject is family. During our lives we may have several families - spouses, children, second marriages, step kids, grand kids, etc. But my focus this morning is on the family we grew up with - mom, dad, brother, sisters.

That first family features a unique connection for most of us. Our siblings know us in a way that no one else does. And brothers and sisters know their parents in a unique way as well.
