David's Daily Devotion for March 12

March 12, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Saturday, March 12.

I love language. I love words. I take great care in choosing the words that go into these little daily thoughts. I hope that, from time to time, my words inspire you, encourage you, comfort you.

But when it comes to inspiration and encouragement, there's no better source than the Word of God. And If you’re looking for words of comfort today, you’ve come to the right place.

John 16:22. Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

David’s Daily Devotion, March 11

March 11, 2022 - Good Morning!  It’s Friday, March 11.

This Sunday at First Baptist, Center, we'll begin our service by celebrating the royalty of our Heavenly Father. Our worship center will be filled with the sounds of songs like "Lead On, O King Eternal" and "Crown Him With Many Crowns" and "Sing to the King". We serve a majestic God!

Royalty isn't something you work your way into, isn't a position you can earn. Royalty is a birthright.  And so, as children of God, we are "born again" into His royal family.

David’s Daily Devotion for March 9

March 9, 2022 - On March 9, 1890, Vyacheslav Molotov was born in Russia. Good luck pronouncing his first name, but I'll bet you didn't have as much trouble with his last name... because of the homemade bomb called the "Molotov cocktail." When the communists came to power in Russia in 1917, Molotov began to rise through the ranks of the new government, finally becoming foreign minister, second only to Joseph Stalin.

David’s Daily Devotion for March 8

March 8, 2022 - Good Morning. It's Tuesday, March 8.

News came yesterday to our town of the death of a small boy in a horrible accident. There's an old saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." And it takes a village to mourn the loss of one. Words fail us at times like this. And so we turn to The Word.

Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and comforts those who are crushed in spirit.

David’s Daily Devotion for March 3

March 3, 2022 - This coming Sunday morning our church will sing a new song, one that we've never sung together before. It's called "House of the Lord" and it's filled with truth and joy. The Contemporary Christian songwriter, Phil Wickham, composed the song in 2020 - during the height of the pandemic - during a time when we weren't allowed to meet in the house of the Lord. And joy was in short supply, as well.

David’s Daily devotion for March 2

March 2, 2022 - We're still 18 days away from the first day of spring, but here in Shelby County, Texas, we're starting to see some signs that the season is changing.  And we're grateful to God for that.  The beginning of spring, on March 20, falls on Sunday this year.  And we're planning a series of devotions during the week prior, that will focus on our Creator and on His creation.  Hope you can join us for those thoughts.
