January 8, 2019 - U.S. Highway 59 North south of Timpson was the scene of a major single-vehicle crash Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

January 7, 2019 - FM 3184 was the location of a large house fire Friday, December 28, 2018 at around 3pm, to which several fire departments and EMS responded with the additional concern someone may still have been inside.

December 27, 2018 - Several roadways across Shelby County are currently flooded due to thunderstorms which began Wednesday evening, December 26, 2018 and continued through the night.

Roads that have been highlighted as having flooding conditions in the county include:

December 24, 2018 - A Sheriff's Department vehicle chase came to a halt late December 22, 2018 when a Shelby County Constable and Tenaha Police Department Unit brought the fleeing vehicle to a stop.

December 19, 2018 - Gary Rholes, Shelby County Attorney, was arrested December 18, 2018 according to the Shelby County Jail log.

The jail log indicated Rholes was arrested by Center Police Department Officers on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

According to the jail log, a personal recognizance bond of $500 was set.

Center Police Department has provided no information on events leading up to the arrest at this time.
