September 18, 2018 - The Shelby County Commissioners voted to approve the addition of a reserve deputy to the Shelby County Precinct 3 Constable's office during their September 12, 2018 meeting and Charles Barr, Precinct 3 Commissioner, suggested opinions varied. 

September 17, 2018 - County Road 1000 was the scene of a single-vehicle rollover crash September 14, 2018. 

Firt to arrive at the scene were Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Center ISD Police and ACE EMS as the driver was a student of the school. 

September 17, 2018 - Two Shelby County Grand Juries handed down over 100 indictments during the month of August. The grand juries were impaneled for the July 2018 term of the 123rd Judicial District Court.

September 12, 2018 - The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has recorded another earthquake in the Timpson area.

According to the USGS a 2.5 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of 5.0 km at 11:30pm, September 11 lasting for 5.7 seconds.

This is the second recorded earthquake in the Timpson area for the month of September as the first, a 3.2 magnitude, was recorded on September 4, 2018.
