August 9, 2018 - Recently suspended Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4 Jenny Hicks was indicted August 1, 2018 on charges related to allegations of theft and abuse of official capacity while Hicks was Municipal Court Judge for the city of Tenaha.

August 9, 2018 - A former Shelby County Sheriff's Jailer has been indicted and arrested on charges alleging illegal activity while he was a jailer.

August 7, 2018 - Center Fire Department (CFD) was dispatched to a house fire July 27, 2018 on CR 1465 at 5:15am in Mt. Gillion. 

When the firemen arrived at the mobile home residence, owned by Levi Bell, it was engulfed in flames and had mostly burned to the ground. 

August 6, 2018 - State Highway 7 West at the intersection of FM 711 was the scene of a single-vehicle crash Friday, August 3, 2018.

July 31, 2018 - An investigation by Roy Cheatwood, Shelby County Precinct 3 Constable, into a questionable attempted use of a check at Quick Stop in Haslam resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

According to Constable Cheatwood, at around 9am Monday, July 30, 2018 he was alerted to the situation at Quick Stop and was advised that the subjects were in a possible stolen vehicle, a 2013 Dodge Challenger.
