March 13, 2018 - U.S. Highway 59 North of Tenaha was the scene of a major two-vehicle crash Tuesday, March 13, 2018.

Tenaha Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and they were assisted by Woods Volunteer Fire Department as well as members of the Center Fire Department.

February 23, 2018 - A Shelby County Grand Jury handed down 45 indictments involving 33 individuals on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. The grand jury was impaneled for the January 2018 term of the 273rd Judicial District Court.

Two included indictments were for Charles Daniel Dearing, Jr. who is accused of murdering Brandi Wright and for possession of a large quantity of marijuana. 

February 16, 2018 - VFW Post 8904 & Ladies Auxiliary held a ceremony on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in remembrance of the sinking of the USS Maine and its crew in Havana Harbor 120 years ago.

February 13, 2018 - VFW Post 8904 and Auxiliary held a Vietnam Peace Accord of 1973 observance recognizing the 45th anniversary of the accord Friday, January 26, 2018 

February 9, 2018 - State Highway 7 East was the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Center, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Sardis Road.
