December 9, 2025 - In their final meeting of 2025, members of the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department elected their leaders for the upcoming year. The results are as follows:
October 2, 2025 - In conjunction with the burn ban issued by the Shelby County Judge earlier today, the City of Joaquin is now under a burn ban as well. All outdoor burning is prohibited until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation.

October 28. 2024 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department (JVFD) would like to thank everyone for an awesome day Saturday, October 26! Seeing downtown Joaquin so swamped with people and bustling with activity was a wonderful sight. We want to thank everyone who stopped in at the station and bought a burger, but it goes much deeper than that.
September 22, 2021 - Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department reports at 1:25am on Wednesday, September 22nd, the fire department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 600 block of East Saddle Street in Joaquin.
February 22, 2021 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department has one pallet of water available at the central fire station downtown now while supplies last. One case per household.
