TAGHS to Host Speaker on American Revolution African American Patriots

June 15, 2026 - Delbert Jackson returns to address Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society members and guests Wednesday, June 17, at 2 PM in the Timpson Public Library Annex. This will be a special presentation honoring the courage, service, and legacy of African American Patriots in the American Revolution.

Mr. Jackson is an avid researcher of black history. He is dedicated to documenting, preserving, and sharing his findings. Making his community a better place to live is also important to Mr. Jackson.

March 20, 2026 - History and high-stakes medicine intersected on March 18, 2026, as Chad Solomon addressed the Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society (TAGHS) at their monthly meeting. Solomon, whose deep family roots are planted in the Weaver Community, and Chief Operations Officer who still flies as a nurse weekly, provided a detailed look at the origin of air medical services in the region, centered on the legacy of Mother Frances Hospital and the expansion of the Life Flight program .

Headstone Restoration Topic of TAGHS Discussion

November 15, 2019 - Are the headstones marking the grave sites of your beloved family and friends becoming unsightly due to environmental grunge or being destroyed by biological microbes such as molds, mosses, algae and lichens?  

On Wednesday, November 20 at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Timpson Public Library, Jim Barrett of the Timpson Area Genelogical and Heritage Society (TAGHS) will present safe and effective methods for cleaning and preserving headstones. 

The public is welcome.
