July 18, 2019 - If you remember from Paul’s letter to the church at Rome, he had a burning desire to preach the gospel in the Capital city. In Acts 27 we find Paul on his way to Rome, yet he is going as a prisoner. While there, he would have great success and members of Caesar’s household would be converted.
July 10, 2019 - Sometimes, I read things that are just too good not to pass along. I don’t recall where this came from, but it needs to be shared.
It seems that the preacher had just concluded a hot and scathing sermon on the sin of swearing. He had stated several times that he knew that one of his hearers was guilty.
July 5, 2019 - There are very few who are unaware that Pentecost was the birthday of the New Testament Church. June 6, 2019 - Can you see by an eye of faith, Jesus, as he is hanging on the cross? He has been hounded, betrayed, denied, tried before an unjust court, led out of the city and nailed to a rough hewn wooden cross. Yet, hanging there, his first words were not a complaint.
May 30, 2019 - Joshua was born a slave and yet became the leader of Israel. He was appointed to lead Israel into the Promised Land and was commissioned by the Lord to lead His people. Leading the people of God, Joshua went from victory to victory. They successfully crossed the flooded Jordan and conquered the fortified city of Jericho.
May 22, 2019 - Satchel Paige was a professional baseball player noted both for his longevity and his numerous "witticisms" that are often quoted. One of those was, "Don’t look back, something may be gaining on you." You know, that is pretty sound advice, something that the Bible also calls for.
May 15, 2019 - Ruth Graham wrote a book entitled, “In Every Pew Sits A Broken Heart.” That is something that all of us need to remember from time to time.
