June 3, 2024 - Shelby County saw another storm enter the county June 2, 2024, and continued overnight bringing with it more thunderstorms and rain which caused flooding in some areas.

Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative (DETEC) has reported an increase in outage numbers.

According to DETEC, as of 9am June 3, overnight/early morning storms caused outage numbers to grow. Crews continue to work on storm damage from Thursday and new reports. If you are without power, please report your outage. Unfortunately the unexpected mass transmission line outage Saturday evening that caused us to lose the majority of our substation service, also caused the online outage map to become skewed. If you have reported your outage, we have your outage documented, but it could possibly not show on the map. Please be patient with us as we resolve the accuracy of the outage map. When this issue is corrected, we will update as to where and how many outages we have remaining.

To report your outage to DETEC call 1-800-392-5986.
