Adult Sewing Club for Beginners, Intermediates

May 21, 2026 - Shelby County Extension is proud to announce the launch of another adult sewing club, designed specifically for beginning and intermediate adult sewers who are ready to learn, grow, and create.

The new “Sew What” Sewing Club provides an exciting opportunity for adults in the community to develop sewing skills in a fun, welcoming, and hands-on environment. Whether participants are brand new to sewing or looking to improve their techniques, this club offers something for everyone.

“Sewing is not only a practical life skill, but also a creative outlet that builds confidence and connection,” said Feleshia Thompson Shelby County Extension Agent. “We are thrilled to offer another opportunity for adults in our community to learn, share, and be inspired.”

Through guided instruction, monthly meetups, and engaging projects, participants will gain valuable skills while connecting with others who share a passion for sewing.

Program Details:

• Who: Adults (beginner and intermediate levels)
• What: Sew What Sewing Club
• When: June 6, 2026 – Once monthly
• Cost: $20 per year
• Equipment: Sewing machines will be provided, or participants are welcome to bring their own machine

Participants can expect a supportive atmosphere, hands-on learning, and plenty of creative fun as they build confidence in their sewing abilities.
