November 2, 2026 - It is the most wonderful time of the year, and you are invited to celebrate the third Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting on Monday, November 30th. Entertainment will be begin at 5:30pm in front of the Historic Courthouse. Entertainment this year is the Excelsior School Christmas Choir under the direction of Tim Verner. The lights will turn on at 6pm. There are several new and wonderful decorations for everyone to enjoy! What better way to kick off the Christmas season.
The Historic Courthouse will be open for a Christmas Open House before the Tree Lighting, starting at 4:30pm, hosted by the William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Later in the week, plan on sampling tasty treats from our member restaurants and caterers at the annual Taste of the Holidays, Sponsored by Shelby Savings Bank. The Taste of the Holidays will be Thursday, December 3rd from 4:30 – 7:30pm at the Civic Center. Thank you to our Silver Sponsors, Sabine State Bank and Specter, Inc. Tickets are on sale at the Chamber for $15 each.
Breakfast with Santa, hosted by the Children’s Advocacy Center kicks off Saturday, December 5th at the Windham Civic Center. This fun event is 9am until 11am. Tickets go on sale today at the Children’s Advocacy Center’s office located at 131 Tenaha Street.
The Lighted Christmas Parade, sponsored by HR Group is later Saturday evening, December 5, at 6pm on the downtown square. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith, this year’s Grand Marshals, will lead off the parade. There is still plenty of time to sign up your float, pick up truck, golf cart etc in the parade.
