June 10, 2026 - Planning is underway for the 50th East Texas Poultry Festival, presented by Farmers State Bank. The Poultry Festival will be held October 1st-3rd on the historic downtown Center square. Arts and Crafts vendor applications are being accepted at the Shelby County Chamber office until Friday, September 11th. June 8, 2026 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite the community to celebrate at new member Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, June 25 at 10am for Jamie’s Freedom Semi-Truck & Trailer Parts.
Jamie’s Freedom Semi-Truck & Trailer Parts is a locally family owned and operated business. Shelby county native Jamie Killen, wife Layla and daughter Josalynn black have built this store from the ground up. They started working out of a storage building, quickly outgrowing the space.

All creative art divisions and are open to Youth (6th through 12th grades) and Adults (17 and older). The art division will also be open to Elementary (K – through 5th). The Creative Arts Show is sponsored by Doches Credit Union.
May 18, 2026 - The ribbon cutting for Beaner's BBQ has been cancelled for Tuesday, May 19 and will be rescheduled at a later date.
May 7, 2026 - The smell of slow-smoked brisket is about to become a staple in Tenaha, Texas as Beaner’s BBQ officially open its doors at 118 N. Bowers Street.
May 15, 2026 - The mobile Shredding Unit will be available on the downtown square today from 10am – 2pm. Community members are invited to bring documents that need to be shredded.
