Jack Arnold McDaniel, 84 of Lake Murvaul, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Jack was born April 15, 1936 in Joaquin, Texas to Obie Dar and Ida Gay Mills McDaniel. He married Linda Ann Sanders on July 6, 1959 and together they celebrated 61 years. Mr. McDaniel worked as a pipe liner and inspector for R.H. Fulton for over 20 years, loved to fish, hunt, and spend time in the outdoors. He enjoyed horseback riding and was a member of the Old Spanish Trail Ride for many years. Jack served his country through the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Gary Masonic Lodge #1101, Nacogdoches Eastern Star Chapter #428 and the Enterprise Baptist Church.
Mr. McDaniel is preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters.

Brian Kelley and Roger McDonald officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Lacey Stevens Clark, 44, of Center, Texas passed from this life, Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in Center, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 16, 2020 with Dr. Andrew Brasher officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.
The family request visitation be held at Hixson Brothers, Pineville on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Due to Covid restrictions, the family requests that visitation be come and go, so that all will have an opportunity to pay their respects. Social distancing and mask are required.
Lacey worked in healthcare as a medical lab technician and registered nurse and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in nursing. She was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising animals and loved her pets.
She was preceded in death by her father, George H. Stevens.

Born September 19, 1961, in Center, Mr. Bowlin is the son of the late Barkley Ben Bowlin and Patricia Dawn Berry Bowlin. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Rosemary Cowser Sancton, 86, of Waco died on November 12, 2020 after a lengthy battle with COPD and lung cancer. Visitation will be held from 2 - 4 pm on Saturday, November 14 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in Center, TX at 2pm on Sunday, November 15 at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Rosemary was born on January 18, 1934 in Dallas, TX and was adopted by Frances and Guy Cowser of Center, TX. She attended Center High School where she was the band drum major. She participated in rodeo and barrel racing. She later attended UT at Austin, then was a flight stewardess for Braniff Airlines. In 1954, she married Ray Sancton and was a devoted Air Force wife and loving mother. She and Ray moved to Waco in 1983. Since then she actively served in their church, First Methodist Waco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Frances Cowser.

William A. Noble, 73, of Shelby County, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020, in Lufkin.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 13, 2020, at Buckner Cemetery in Center with Bro. Don Noble officiating.
Born April 18, 1947, in San Augustine, Mr. Noble is the son of the late Clifton Noble and Bertha Mae Stringer Noble. On May 2, 1967, he joined the United States Army. He served as a Special Operations Combat Medic during the Vietnam War. Mr. Noble discharged November 29, 1977, having received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, Army Commendation with Valor, National Defense Service Medal, Conduct Medal for Vietnam Service, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Award, Valorous Unit Award, and a Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge.
Following his retirement, he worked as an LVN. Mr. Noble received great joy spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and his pet dog, Rosey Girl. He was a member of Spann’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Joshua David Bockwich was born on Sunday, June 1, 2008, to Lucy Bockwich and Joseph Johnson. Joshua was a very bright and kindhearted young man, in the seventh grade at Hubbard Middle School. He shared a passion for animals, art and video games. In his short life, Joshua fought many health problems and never lost his positive attitude and excitement for life. On Sunday November 8, 2020, Joshua lost his five year battle with epilepsy.
Visitation will be held at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler on November 11, from 4-6 pm. Grave side services and burial will be at Tyler Memorial Cemetery on Thursday November 12, at 2 pm. There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Joshua’s life at Woodland Christian Church in Timpson on Friday November 13, starting at 5 pm.

Joshua was such a happy, loving, free-spirited young man that touched the lives of everyone he met. He loved openly and with all his heart, and will be missed deeply. Heaven has gained another angel and he is rejoicing in paradise.

Floyd Dean Cuzick, Sr., 81, of Center, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, in Center.
His wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned.
Born September 23, 1939, in Llano, Floyd is the son of the late Clarence Cuzick and Velma Ford Cuzick. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years, worked in the forestry service, and was also an airplane mechanic. Floyd was a traveler and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching.

Lena was raised in Corsicana, Texas. Later in life she married Jack Liles and the two spent over 37 years together before his passing in 2018. Lena enjoyed time spent with her brother, Barry, in the woodshop building birdhouses. She loved watching Christmas movies, playing dominoes, and a good game of poker. Lena was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family. Lena attended Heber Springs Apostolic Church when she was visiting with her son.

William Edward “Bill” Rafferty was born January 20, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, and passed away peacefully on November 1, 2020, in Houston, Texas.
His parents, Paul and Pauline Rafferty, instilled their strong Catholic religion in Bill. He grew up in Dallas attending Catholic schools and graduated from the prestigious Jesuit Catholic High School in 1974. After graduation, he attended Texas A&M University where he met his wife of forty-one years, Sharon Hughes Rafferty. After graduating with a degree in Economics, Bill began a career in the oil and gas industry spanning over thirty-five years. During the final part of his career, Bill owned and operated Chisos Resources, LLC in East Texas for nearly fifteen years.
Bill, a true Aggie, enjoyed all Aggie sports and especially Aggie football. As season ticket holders, he and Sharon attended home games cheering on The 12th man and tailgating with their friends and family. Throughout adulthood, Bill and his close high school friends made several trips to Big Bend backpacking and making memories of a lifetime. Bill, an avid photographer, captured all of these memories that his family will always treasure. He appreciated the beauty nature offered and spending precious time with those he loved.
During hunting season, Bill, along with his two sons, Matthew and Robert, always were planning their next weekend together. Bill taught his sons to hunt at a young age. They enjoyed countless seasons spending time together in both duck and deer blinds. Bill shared his love of the outdoors with others. He and his sons took an annual duck hunt to Matagorda Island for thirty years with of all of their friends. In his later years, Bill, Matthew, and Robert spent countless weekends hunting trophy deer in South Texas.
Throughout his life, Bill faithfully served the Catholic Church and regularly attended mass. His faith constantly guided him and he devoted his life to the Catholic Church and his unequivocal devotion will be carried on by his family and friends.

Sharon Burrows Stewart, 70, of Timpson, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2020 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on December 16, 1949 in Houston, Texas, to Florene (Morris) Burrows and raised by the late Florene Burrows, Oris J. “Cookie” Brinson, and Birdie Brinson.
Graveside service will be at 4:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Garrison St., Timpson, Texas, 75975, with Bro. Justin Timmons officiating.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 6-8 PM at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson, Texas.
Sharon was raised in Timpson, Texas. She graduated Timpson High School Class of 1968. After graduation she went to Stephen F. Austin State University and received a bachelor’s degree in education. She graduated and started teaching at Tenaha ISD and taught for 26 years. She then started a new job teaching at Timpson ISD and taught another 14 years before retiring after 40 years of service. Sharon loved what she had been called to do and remained teaching homebound until about a week ago. Sharon was that teacher that made a huge impact on all her students she encountered. Her kind, compassionate mother nature, ensured she not only taught good value, but also, she made sure each child had what they needed. When a need arose, Sharon was the first to provide that need. She had many students she would take under her wing as one of her own always instilling in them positive attributes. She and Herbert had two wonderful children whom she loved very much. When Sharon was younger, she enjoyed riding horses. Later she found great joy spending time with her grandkids; going out and about with friends and family and loved opportunities to go eat with loved ones.

Mildred “Marilyn” King was born October 25, 1947 in Pineland, TX and entered into rest on November 2, 2020 in Nacogdoches, Tx. She was 73 years of age.
Marilyn was a Special Angel. Raised in Pineland, TX she enjoyed helping her family raise a garden and doing other chores around the farm. Later in life she had the opportunity to live in Austin. She spent some time in San Marcos & Marshall as a resident in a Ladies Group Home and then later settled in at Pinegrove Nursing Center in Center, Tx.
Anyone that knew Marilyn knew she loved people. She never met a stranger and made many friends along her life journey. Marilyn enjoyed church and was a member of First Baptist Church in Pineland, Texas. She enjoyed music and loved to sing. One of her favorite times of the year was Christmas. She loved celebrating Christmas and looked forward to seeing all the Christmas lights and being with her family.

Cynthia Davis Griffin, 68, of Center, Texas passed away on October 31, 2020. Cindy was born on October 11, 1952 to the late W. I. and Inez Neilson Davis.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center with Rev. Malcolm Monroe officiating.
Cindy was a loving wife of 47 years to her husband Guy. They enjoyed traveling together, their home in Colorado, fly fishing, and attending the Bravo Vail summer concert series. Her grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life, followed closely by Texas Longhorn football. Cindy loved music, participating in the chancel and hand bell choir for many years. She served in many committees over the years at the First United Methodist Church in Center, Texas, where she was a lifelong member.

Robert H. Burns, 77, of Timpson, TX passed away on October 29, 2020. Mr. Burns was born May 21, 1943 to the late William H. and Clarice (Bates) Burns.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 3-5PM at Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, TX. Funeral service will be on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11AM at Taylor Funeral Home with interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson, TX.
Robert was a loving husband and a dedicated father. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending to cattle and working on the farm. He loved a good game of Texas Hold ‘Em and spending time with his friends and family. He was an avid reader and had checked out 395 books from the new library in Timpson alone. Robert was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Gary, TX.

Nita Jo Fleming, 86, of Timpson, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2020 in Center, Texas. She was born on June 18, 1934 in Timpson, Texas, to the late Walter Pike and Alma (Croombs) Pike. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 2, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Tenaha with Bro. John Whitworth officiating. Internment will follow at Corinth Cemetery, Timpson, Texas.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Tenaha on Monday, November 2, 2020 beginning at 1:00 PM until service time.
Nita was raised in Timpson, Texas. She attended and graduated Timpson High School Class of 1953. After graduation she met the love of her life, Earl Van Fleming, and the two were married on September 18, 1954. They soon moved to Tenaha, Texas and the two raised two children, Ronnie and Greg. She and Earl spent over 44 wonderful years together before his passing in 1998. Jo was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, and crocheting. She was a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star in Timpson and Tenaha. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with those she adored. Jo loved the Lord and served him through First Baptist Church Timpson growing up and First Baptist Church Tenaha.

Clayton Joseph Russell, Sr., affectionately known to all as CJ, passed away on Wednesday, October 28th, 2020, in Center, TX.
CJ was born to Rayford and Betty Russell in Port Arthur, TX on February 15th, 1957. He was the oldest of 4 siblings. He attended Nederland schools graduating with the class of 1975. He started working for Groves Equipment Rental prior to graduation and worked with them for 20 years. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his children. It didn’t matter where CJ was, he never met a stranger.
