August 25, 2021 - The Center Lady Rider Volleyball team played Tuesday, August 24, and lost in five close sets to Gary. Center lost their first set 26-28 but tied it up by taking the second set with a 26-24 score. Gary came back to take the third set while Center continued to fight winning the 4th set 25-21. The match was decided in the final set which was won by Gary.

Next, the Lady Riders will travel away to compete against Timpson on August 31st. To view the CHS Volleyball Schedule, click here.

August 24, 2021 - Center Roughriders - Tickets will be sold at the gate for ALL home games. Any questions please call the Athletic Office at 936-598-1520.

Shelby County high school football is headed into Week 1 of regular season, non-district, football competition. All five county teams have a game this week.

The Center Roughriders head into their Week 1 game with a new head coach Ricky Meeks. Center faces their former district rival, the Tatum Eagles at home in Roughriders Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 27,2021.

The Joaquin Rams will play a rare Thursday game when they host the Beckville Bearcats at Rams Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. on August 26, 2021.

The Shelbyville Dragons will host The Grapeland Sandies on Friday, August 27 a 7:30 p.m. kickoff is at Dragons Stadium.

The Tenaha Tigers host the Honey Grove Warriors at home in Raymond Jackson Stadium at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 28.

The Timpson Bears will travel to Frankston on Friday, August 27 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Indians Stadium.

Update: August 24, 2021 - The 9th grade football game will play at 5pm and the JV football game will play at 6pm. Both are at Tatum.


August 23, 2021 - Tickets will be sold online for the Riders vs Tatum JV Football game on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Tatum. The cost is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Game starts at 5:30pm.

  • Athletic and Cheer Buses: Parking is located in the back area of the stadium, closest to the indoor facility in the bus parking slots
  • Visitor Parking: Parking is located behind the visitor’s stands. 

Please access both of these parking areas either from Hwy 149 to Sterling Price Drive to Jefferson Street or from Hwy 43 to Jefferson Street. This will enter you directly into the visitor’s parking lot.

August 24, 2021 - The Joaquin Cross Country team is warming up to start competing with their first run in Broaddus on Wednesday, September 8. To see the full Cross Country Schedule, click here.

August 23, 2021 - The Center Varsity Lady Riders competed in West Rusk's two day tournament and ended with two wins following a rough start. The tournament started on Thursday with three tough losses against East Texas Home School, Big Sandy, and Harmony.

The team returned on Saturday and rallied to end the day on wins. They narrowly lost their first sets to West Rusk. Next the team faced Carlisle and T.K. Gorman Bishop with two strong wins defeating both with two set wins.

August 23, 2021 - The Shelbyville Junior High volleyball games in Colmesneil today, August 23 have been cancelled.

The Shelbyville Dragons varsity football team played host to the Alto Yellow Jackets Friday for both teams final preseason scrimmage. Both teams got in much needed work while preparing for regular season, predistrict games, which begin next week.

The scrimmages began with both first and second string high school teams running set amounts of plays on controlled possessions.

The starting teams finished the practice session with 15 minutes of timed game-like play which ended with Alto holding a narrow 6-0 advantage.

The Dragons will begin their 2021 football season with a home game with the Grapeland Sandies next Friday, August 27, 2021. Kickoff at Dragons Stadium will be at 7:30 p.m.

Joaquin High School on Thursday, August 19, 2021 -

On Thursday Joaquin High School's Rams football program hosted the Logansport Tigers for varsity and junior varsity preseason scimmages. JV line-of-scrimmage action started the day with each school's team taking turns running their offense for set amounts of plays. The schools got a lot of needed work in but neither team was able to score.

Varsity second string scrimmage play ended with the Rams scoring two touchdowns but not allowing the Tigers to score.

In a timed half of play the Rams versus Tigers varsity teams ended their scrimmage with the Rams leading 30-20.

August 19, 2021 - Tenaha's varsity football scrimmage game against New Diana has been moved to an away game in New Diana. Game starts at 6 pm.
