June 2, 2026 - On June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. General Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day’s end on June 6, the Allies gained a foothold in Normandy.

May 24, 2026 - Flags should be at half staff from sunup tomorrow, May 25, 2026, (Memorial Day) until 12-noon.

If you can't have them lowered in the morning go ahead and lower tonight.

April 27, 2026 - Loyalty Day originally began as "Americanization Day" in 1921 as a counter to the Communists’ May 1st celebration of the Russian Revolution. On May 1, 1930, 10,000 VFW members staged a rally at New York’s Union Square to promote patriotism. May 1 then evolved into Loyalty Day and the first official observance of the day was in 1959 after the signing of Public Law 85-529 on July 18, 1958.
