December 6, 2017 - It began when Japanese aircraft appeared in the air over Pearl Harbor, Hawaii just before 8am on Sunday morning, December 7th, 1941. When the attack ceased shortly before 10am, less than two hours after it began, American forces had paid a fearful price. Eighteen (18) ships were either damaged or sunk, 180 aircraft were destroyed and 2,403 were dead and thousands of others wounded.

November 9, 2017 - Since 1922, the Buddy Poppy has been an integral part of the VFW community. As VFW’s official memorial flower, the Poppy represents the blood shed by American service members and it reiterates that the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Auxiliary will never forget their sacrifices.
November 6, 2017 - The President has issued a proclamation honoring the victims of the Sutherland Springs, Texas shooting. The Flag of the United States and all other flags flying with it are to be displayed at half-staff from now until sunset on November 9, 2017.
