August 24, 2026 - The Shelbyville Dragons’ Cross Country season gets underway this week as they travel to Hemphill on Wednesday, August 26 to compete.

Law Enforcement Responds to 911 Call for Aggravated Kidnapping

August 22, 2026 - Shelby County Sheriff’s Department responded to a possible aggravated kidnapping call at the car wash in Tenaha Thursday night, August 20, 2026.

A call was made to the Sheriff's Office at 11pm from a juvenile female reporting her stepmother and her father were at the car wash when two men pulled up in a black truck, discharged a firearm, and then took the stepmother.

Shelby County Schools' Back to School Schedule

July 25, 2026 - The 2026-2027 school year has arrived with two Shelby County schools, Tenaha and Timpson, the first to get going in the first week of August. The remaining Shelby County schools start back during the second week of August. Be sure to use caution when traveling through school zones as everyone adjusts to the new year.
