January 30, 2021 - Roy Cheatwood, Constable Precinct 3, reports the discovery of a missing person in Shelby County.

According to Constable Cheatwood he received a phone call from DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Department Lt. Reggie Roe on January 28, 2021 at 9am seeking the assistance of Cheatwood in helping to locate the whereabouts of Charles Clifton Evans.

Lt. Roe shared with Constable Cheatwood, Evans had left his mother's home in Logansport on the previous morning and had not been heard from or seen since that time.

January 26, 2021 - The Shelbyville Volunteer Fire Department and Huxley Volunteer Fire Department fought a house fire on the 100 block of CR 2547 Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 12:41pm.

January 25, 2021 - The Shelby County Courthouse has a dumpster located in the parking lot behind the structure strictly for the use of the courthouse.

A sign located on the dumpster clearly indicates in English/Spanish, "Not for Public Use! Video Surveillance in Use! May Be Fined!"

January 20, 2021 - Shelby County Judge Allison Harbison informed the court during their meeting January 20, 2021, the Texas Commission on Jail Standards has issued a certificate of compliance to the Shelby County Jail as of December 31, 2020.

January 18, 2021 - Shelby County Commissioners agreed to the addition of an assistant District Attorney and part-time investigator for the 123rd Judicial District Attorney's office during their meeting Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
