August 6, 2021 - Commissioner McSwain states a lot of progress was made yesterday and CR 1488 will be closed today August 6, 2021, from the intersection of CR 1211 to FM 1645 as the Road and Bridge crew will be adding oil to that road today. 

August 5, 2021 - Roscoe McSwain, Shelby County Precinct 1 Commissioner, announces work has commenced on CR 1211 off of State Highway 7 West to the intersection of CR 1488. Additionally, work continues on CR 1488 to the intersection of FM 1645. 

July 30, 2021 - U.S. Highway 59 near Tenaha was the scene of a single-vehicle crash Thursday, July 29, 2021. 

July 28, 2021 - A plea agreement has been made in two cases against Randa Askew McMahon who was indicted November 8, 2018 for multiple offenses involving a child.

July 26, 2021 - The funeral of former Shelby County Judge Rick Campbell was held Friday, July 23, 2021, at First Baptist Church Center following which a large funeral procession traveled to Oaklawn Cemetery on State Highway 7 East where he was laid to rest.

July 21, 2021 - AT&T has reported an outage in the Shelby County area and has announced a projected restoral of 6-7 hours.
