April 13, 2017 - A Shelby County Grand Jury handed down 42 indictments involving 28 individuals on Thursday, April 6, 2017. The grand jury was impaneled for the January 2017 term of the 273rd Judicial District Court.
Cresensian Ararellano Garcia was indicted for engaging in organized criminal activity, first degree felony. The indictment alleges on March 22, 2017 with intent to establish, maintain, or participate in a combination or in the profits of a combination, with the combination consisting of Garcia and J.G., K.A., and C.A.
April 13, 2017 - Shelbyville Street in Center was the scene of a major crash involving a single vehicle and several fixtures along the roadway Thursday, April 13, 2017.
April 7, 2017 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department (JVFD) was dispatched to a house fire on CR 3379 Wednesday, April 5, 2017 when flames were discovered emanating from the structure.
According to the JVFD, sometime before 5:48pm when they were called to the scene a man was driving by the mobile home to take care of some horses nearby when he witnessed flames and smoke coming from the attic. He alerted the resident within of his discovery and the firemen were called.
April 4, 2017 - Judge Leann K. Rafferty, 123rd Judicial District Court Judge, addressed the Shelby County Commissioners about her concerns over courthouse security at their meeting held on Monday, March 27, 2017.
April 3, 2017 - Center Fire Department firemen found themselves in a sticky situation on Saturday, April 1, 2017 as they worked to clean the roadway of corn syrup.
