November 15, 2023 - A Shelby County Grand Jury handed down 31 indictments on Thursday, October 5, 2023. The grand jury was impaneled for the July 2023 term of the 123rd/273rd Judicial District Courts.

November 10, 2023 - Shelby County Offices are closed on Friday, November 10, 2023, in observance of Veteran’s Day.

Offices are expected to return to normal business hours on Monday, November 13, 2023.

November 6, 2023 - U.S. Highway 96 North near the Center Country Club was the scene of a two-vehicle crash November 1, 2023.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene of the crash and when they arrived, one vehicle was on its top in the middle of the southbound side of the roadway.

October 27, 2023 - A Center man has been convicted by a Shelby County Jury in the 2021 first degree murder by shooting of another man and has been sentenced to 50 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Inmate Division.
