November 4, 2022 - Center and Joaquin Volunteer Firemen have received reports of a involving text messaging scam.

The scam offers $10 off for a Center Volunteer Fire Department hoody and likewise in Joaquin. The text provides a website for the recipient to follow. 

Recipients are advised not to click this website, and the fire departments want all recipients to be aware this is in no way associated with them.

Residents in other areas should be cautious and reach out to your local fire department if you receive similar offers.

November 2, 2022 - (Submitted photos) - The intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and State Highway 7 East in Joaquin was the scene of a truck-tractor incident involving a lost load on Monday, October 31, 2022, at around 9:30am.

Representatives of Shelbyville First United Methodist Church gathered at the Commissioners' Court as a proclamation was adopted recognizing the 125th Anniversary of the church.

November 1, 2022 - Commissioner Tom Bellmyer advises construction on CR 4123 is still in progress. The State is overseeing the bridge replacement on CR 4123 and Bellmyer will let the public know as soon as the contruction is completed.
