March 23, 2022 - Tom Bellmyer, Commissioner Precinct 4, reports all roadways which were closed due to weather conditions have reopened except for County Road 4760 in Weaver bottom at the end of FM 1970 South in the Attoyac River bottom.
Updated 6:05pm: CR 4323, Risinger Creek and Flat Fork Creek, is closed due to flooding at the three bridges bottom. (Reopen)
March 23, 2022 - The Shelby County Commissioners held a lengthy meeting Wednesday, March 2, 2022, addressing multiple issues important to the county of which a Hazard Mitigation Plan was a leading concern.
A Hazard Mitigation Plan is something necessary for the county to have in place and should be updated every five years per FEMA regulation. Not having a plan in place would make the county ineligible for certain grant programs such as flood mitigation assistance, hazard mitigation grant program and pre-disaster mitigation competitive.

March 16, 2022 - A Shelby County Jury has found Brandon D. Roberts, of Center, guilty Wednesday, March 16, 2022, following a three-day trial which was held at the Windham Civic Center.
March 14, 2022 - The Timpson Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) responded to the house fire near the Panola County line, and Sheriff Kevin Windham confirmed the State Fire Marshal has been called in to determine the cause of the fire due to its suspicious nature.
According to the Timpson VFD, they responded to the house fire on CR 4916 on Sunday, March 13, 2022, and when the fire fighters arrived around 4:10am the house was fully involved in the fire and the residents had already evacuated from the structure.
March 14, 2022 - Shelby County authorities engaged in a manhunt Saturday, March 12, 2022, when a suspect allegedly evaded apprehension, and assaulted a Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy.
March 9, 2022 - State Highway 7 (SH7) East at the intersection of Loop 500 was the scene of a two-vehicle crash Wednesday, March 9, 2022, involving a truck-tractor and a pickup truck.
When Center Police Officers arrived at the scene, both vehicles were safely off the roadway.
March 4, 2022 - The West Shelby County Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call of a dog trapped in a water well on Wednesday, March 1, 2022. It is believed the dog had been trapped in the well since the previous night.
