A building heat wave will result in area heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees from late morning into the early evening hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The heat will extend into the new work week as well.
The dangerous heat indices will create an situation that could harm people, pets, and animals outside. Heat illness will be possible for those unprepared to beat the heat.

A building heat wave along with high humidity will combine to produce heat index values between 105 to 109 degrees across the four state area Thursday and Friday afternoons.
August 5, 2015 - The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Heat Advisory in effect from 1pm through 7pm Thursday.
A building heat wave and increasing humidity will result in heat index values between 103 and 108 degrees Thursday afternoon. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity values will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illness are possible.

Hot conditions with dangerous heat index values will continue as the high pressure remains over the region and will produce very hot temperatures and allow for dangerous heat index values.
