September 19, 2017 - Only 16 days left until the 41st Annual East Texas Poultry Festival, Sponsored by Farmers State Bank, opens its gates to a weekend of Fun, Entertainment, Arts and Crafts and lots of Food!

The Cutting of Boa will be held on Thursday, October 5th at 10:00 am on the Frances Oates Center Stage!  Children from all over the County will keep us entertained for the rest of the day! Look for the rest of the weekend entertainment activities in future updates.

September 18, 2017 - East Texas Poultry Festival Doo Dah Parade Chairman, Marco Pallero, announces Center Tire Company as the 2017 Platinum Parade Sponsor.  The parade will circle the Historic Downtown Center Square, led by the Shelby County Junior Chamber of Commerce, at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27. Pre-registration for this popular event is not required.  Participants are to line up at the Farmers State Bank Drive-Thru at 4:00 p.m. Gold sponsors for the parade are Ihlo Sales and Imports and Professional Title Service.

September 12, 2017 - Start testing out your Chicken Recipes for the 41st Poultry Festival Cooking Contest sponsored by Tyson Foods. Chicken dishes can be grilled, baked, fried, in a casserole, in a dip – any way you love to cook and eat chicken. The Chicken Cooking Contest is open for participation in three categories: Youth (ages 8-13), High School Youth (ages 14-17) and Adult (age 18 and above). Trophies and cash prizes are presented to the winners in each category.
