Ashley Elizabeth Cagle, a radiant soul whose heart overflowed with love for her family and her faith, was born on May 1, 1989, and transitioned into the arms of Jesus on May 26, 2025. She was her mother’s twin in more ways than just looks—sharing a bond so deep it was as if their hearts beat in tandem. Ashley had a rare, gentle way of making everyone she met feel seen, loved, and welcomed, always putting others before herself with grace and compassion.

Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm, Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Jon Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Shelbyville Cemetery in Shelbyville.

From a young age, Ashley’s light shone brightly. In her high school years, she was known not just for her smile, but for her spirit—cheering proudly on the sidelines as a cheerleader, rallying the teams and energizing the crowd. She also took to the field and track with determination and grace, playing softball and running track, showing her teammates what it meant to lead with heart. Her classmates remember her as someone who brought life to every hallway she walked down, and encouragement to every friend who needed it.

A best friend to her siblings, YaYa to her treasured nephews, and the most devoted, joy-filled mother to her beloved son Ryder, her life was a testament to the love she so freely gave. Ashley’s voice, both in song and in spirit, carried beauty and warmth—whether she was lifting hearts in worship, humming her favorite country tune, or being called upon to share a special in churches she’d visited, always shining as the songbird she was.

She found peace by the water, joy in the laughter of her loved ones, and meaning in every soul she encountered. Even through life’s hardest valleys, Ashley never lost sight of God’s goodness—her faith unwavering, her hope steadfast, and her heart always anchored in her relationship with Jesus Christ. To know her was to be touched by His light, and her memory will continue to inspire those blessed to have shared in her journey.

Sue Lynn (Brittain) Schulz, of Timpson, Texas, passed away May 24, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, Texas with Bro. Cliff Hughes and Bro. Fred Wilcox officiating. Visitation will be held at 1 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Sue was born to Paul and Maudelle (Crump) Brittain on February 25, 1949, in Timpson, Texas. She attended LaMarque ISD. She met John Wayne Schulz at a young age, and they soon married on March 16, 1966. They were married 42 years until Johnny passed away in 2009. They moved to Timpson in 1970 where they raised four children and were blessed with seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Sue was an active member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she attended until her health failed.

Her family looked forward to holidays and family gatherings to enjoy her cooking, especially the dressing and homemade rolls. Sue spent her life caring for others. She became a Certified Nurse Aide working at many local nursing homes, ending her career at Garrison Nursing Home. She also was a private caregiver, taking many in need into her home, to live out their last days with love and care.

She was very industrious and determined. Once she had an idea in her mind, she made it happen; from helping her children with carpentry/remodeling work on their homes to sewing special outfits for her grandchildren. She could build anything she set her mind to including dollhouses for her granddaughters, kennels to raise chihuahuas, a bird aviary and decks for the pool and hot tub.

In her later life, she enjoyed sitting with her beloved dog, Sissy, and looked forward to sibling game nights with her sister, Robin and brother, Joe and his family. Her passion became her flower garden and greenhouse where she spent most of her time in her last days.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Richard Baker and his staff for their many years of care and friendship.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Kidney Fund or Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Jeremy Lee Ford, age 50, passed away peacefully at home in Center, Texas, surrounded by his loving family on the morning of May 20, 2025 after a long battle with ALS. He was born August 27, 1974 to Johnny Ford and Alice Jacobs Ford.

“God is greater than your ups and downs.”

Devoted and loving are not strong enough words to describe the type of husband, father, carpenter, and follower of Christ that he was. Jeremy and his wife Dayna were the picture of enduring and unconditional love. Jeremy spent his final years living a life of faith, humility, strength and grace. Through Jeremy’s illness, he continued to be a strong presence in the lives of his friends and family, never once getting pulled in to the bottomless pit of hopelessness and despair, rather choosing to spend his remaining days loving his family, mending broken relationships, strengthening his faith in the plan that was laid out for him, and spreading the word of God to his family and friends. Jeremy was a warrior, not only against his illness, but a warrior for Christ. Jeremy took great comfort in his church and often spoke of the love that he felt surrounded by when he was at Sunday services. Jeremy continued attending regularly, even until the end of his life.

He worked tirelessly to mend and repair broken relationships, offering forgiveness and seeking forgiveness in return. Jeremy learned to humble himself before God and before others to make sure that he lived a life worthy of God’s love, and what a miracle it was to watch! With deep humility and compassion, he led by example—first for the Lord, then for his family and friends. Jeremy’s heart for God shaped every decision he made and every step he took in his final years. Although the loss of our husband, father, son and friend are profound, let us find comfort in knowing that Jeremy is resting in his eternal home, and that we will all be reunited again one day in all of God’s glory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Ford, and his bonus father, Melvin Waller.

Jeremy leaves behind:

Loving wife, Dayna

First wife, Belinda

Cherished daughter, Olivia

Three “bonus” children—Kaleb, Brooklyn, and Debbi—whom he loved as his own

Mother, Alice Ford

Brother, John Ford and wife Shellie

Sister, Jennifer Shahan and husband, Matt

A host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

In keeping with Jeremy’s wishes, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Jeremy asked that all donations be directed to his family to help with final expenses and to provide for his children moving forward. Jeremy was a devout follower of Christ and before his passing, requested prayers for his family during this extremely difficult time. The world is a better place because Jeremy was a part of it.

Donations may be made directly to the family: Zelle: 936-371-5388, CashApp: $day14382, Venmo: @Ford-Dayna, PayPal: @day14382.

Kirk Mayo officiating. Interment will follow at Old Salem Cemetery in Shelby County.

Delores was born February 6, 1946, at home in Shelby County, to Junior Brown and Buna Rachel Bailey Addison. Delores graduated from Joaquin High School and soon married Bobby Joe Fountain, Sr. After being stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas for a couple of years, they returned to Center, Texas. Here, they raised their family, worked, and enjoyed life. What a testimony she lived out. Her life was a perfect example of what a Christian should be. She never saw herself as better or above anyone - that is humility. She always chose to let go of anger or resentment, even to those who had done her wrong - that is forgiveness. She was gentle and patient at all times in all situations - that is meekness. Never would you find her in a situation that she gave up hope. She always believed in those around her, saw the diamond in the rough and was willing to give them space to become what they were called to be - that is patience. Her heart and home were always open to those around and passing through.

Whether you were family, a friend, or just an acquaintance - you were welcomed in - that is love. Our granny became Granny to others, because they were family and her heart had room for everyone. She loved God and her church family. She was happiest when working in the kingdom of God. If the call was given, she was there to answer the call, no matter how big or small the task. We will miss her…but our lives will forever be changed…because she loved us.

Craig Mason Bigler, 72, of Huxley, Texas, was born September 13, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas. The sun set on his life’s greatest hunt on May 4, 2025, after he fought hard to bag a great comeback.

Known as “Big” to many, he lived life in a big way. From big man on campus at Sterling High School in Baytown, Texas, to working on many big projects in his long ExxonMobil career, to loving his big family, Craig’s zeal for life shown through to everyone he met. His passions for big game and big play were his trademarks. He lived life to the fullest and loved people well. Whether in his role as “Dad”, “Grandpa”, “Brother”, “Uncle Craig”, “Uncle Big”, or as the “self-appointed mayor of Huxley”, Craig loved cooking for a crowd, telling stories, laughing, being the designated photographer, talking about the Astros, and educating listeners on the animals he hunted with assorted weapons or with his camera. He loved his grandkids big. He truly was one-of-a-kind, and his absence leaves a huge void for those that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde “Click” Bigler and Jeanette Ott Bigler, and brothers, Stanley Bigler and Keith Bigler.

Companion, Debbie Jones
