November 11, 2020 - Basketball Season Starts Soon! The Center Recreation Department is proud to announce that the 2021 Little Dribblers sign ups will begin with the first sign-up day of Tuesday, November 10 in the Center Intermediate Gym (next to Port-A-Cool Park) from 5pm to 7pm.

A second sign-up day is Friday, November 13 in the Center Intermediate Gym from 5pm to 7pm.

Cost is $60 for Basketball (Ages 4-12).

Signups can also be done at the Recreation Office at 645 Malone Drive, Center, TX 75935. The Recreation Office is open Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. Registrations can be made in person from November 4 to November 13. A Late Penalty of $15 will be assessed after November 13th.

All Boys and Girls are eligible between the ages of 4 and 12 by August 1 2021. Each child must present a copy of their Birth Certificate. Anyone interested in Coaching or Volunteering, please notify a Board Member at Sign-Ups.

November 11, 2020 - The undefeated District Champ Timpson Bear will play in the first round of playoffs versus Frankston on Thursday, November 12th 7:30pm in Henderson.

November 10, 2020 - Joaquin junior high boys and girls basketball games scheduled for Thursday, November 12, have been cancelled due to the varsity playoff football game.

November 10, 2020 - Today's, November 10th, Tenaha Tiger girl's basketball varsity and junior varsity games are cancelled.

Thursday, November 12th junior high girls and boys basketball games in Gary start at 5:30pm. Tickets are on sale at Tenaha High School for $4.

Friday, November 13th, Tigers vs Burkeville Playoff at Raymond Jackson Stadium starts at 7:30 pm. Presale Ticket Sale Only are $5 at the Administration Office. Presale tickets for students at lunch at the high school. (No tickets at gate.)

November 9, 2020 - Shelbyville ISD will have Early Release at 1pm on Thursday, November 12 for the Bi-District Championship game.

All tickets must be purchased online. Adult tickets are $6 and student $4. To purchase tickets, go to https://tylersports.rankonesport.com/Website/Main

Choose tickets and then playoff tickets and the Shelbyville v. Beckville game will come up. No tickets will be printed. Ticket purchasers will be required to sign into their account and show their ticket on their mobile device at the gate.

If you have not purchased your ticket ahead of time, you may go to the gate and purchase a ticket, but you must have a mobile device and a credit card to do so.

Shelbyville Fans will be Visitors and will enter through Gate 7.  

All fans 10 years of age or older are expected to wear a face covering for admittance and practice social distancing while at the game.

November 9, 2020 - Tickets for the Joaquin vs. Carlisle varsity football playoff game to be played at Tatum ISD on Thursday, November 12, will be available at the Joaquin Administration Office starting Monday, November 9. The band will be traveling for this game. Tickets are $5.00 each and everyone entering the gate, regardless of age, must present a ticket. Tickets will be sold according to the guidelines listed in the table below. There are 750 tickets available for this contest.

November 9, 2020 - Middle School Boys and Girls Basketball Games vs Hudson on November 12, 2020 has been cancelled

The Center Roughriders took a 35-18 win over the visiting Rusk Eagles in Friday’s District 10 4A-2 varsity football game. This was both team’s regular season finale. The ‘Riders record moved to 7-3 overall and they finished at 3-2 in the conference. This gave CHS the district’s third seed for the UIL Football Playoffs.

Rusk gained an early lead with a 23-yard field goal by Aidan McCown with 5:43 minutes left in the first quarter. The Eagles 3-0 point lead held up throughout the remainder of the first period of play.

A 24-yard touchdown run by Keamodre Horace gave Center their first lead at the 10:49 mark of the second quarter. Luis Gonzales added the extra point kick and gave CHS a 7-3 advantage.

Horace added a 70-yard touchdown run with 8:08 left in the second stanza and CHS took a 14-3 lead. At the 6:28 mark of the second period Horace added yet another rushing score from 60 yards away to help boost the ‘Rider’s lead to 21-3.

Rusk got a 2-yard scoring run from Owen McCown with less than a minute left in the first half to cut Center’s lead to 21-10 at the halftime break.

Neither team scored during the third frame. The next score came with 11:18 left in the game when McCown found Trey Deveraux in the endzone for a score which cut the CHS lead to 3 points at 21-18.

Horace added another rushing score to his resume with a 14-yarder with 9:08 remaining. Center held a 28-18 advantage.

Senior Colton Crawford scored the final touchdown of the contest when he returned a fumble 86 yards for a Rouhriders score with just 3 minutes left in the contest.
