March 3, 2016 - Softball:

Lady Riders will travel to Hudson, today (2/29) instead of Tuesday, (3/1) due to both schools advancing in boys basketball.  The game time will remain the same, JV - 5 PM, V - 7 pm.

Soccer: 
Beginning Friday, 3/4/16, all remaining Boys Soccer games will be Varsity only beginning @ 6:00 p.m.

Roughriders Advance to Regional Quarter Finals (UPDATE)

February 29, 2016 - Roughrider Basketball has advanced to Regional Quarter Finals! The first game will be Center Roughriders v Diboll Lumberjacks on Tuesday, Mar. 1 at 7:30 PM. Roughriders are the home team. Tickets will be sold at the gate - $6 adults, $4 students

The Riders will play the Lumberjacks at William R. Johnson Coliseum located at 700 E. College St. Nacogdoches, TX 75964.

Sunshine Haley TKO Opponent in MMA Debut Match

Ascend Combat FacebookFebruary 23, 2016 -  In front of a sold out crowd in Bossier City, Sunshine Haley made her debut into the world of MMA fighting and won it against her opponent with a final ruling of TKO. The match was part of Ascend Combat Relentless, Ultimate Cage Fighting held on February 20, 2016. Ascend Combat represents MMA in Louisiana.

Haley faced Eloisa Jiminez who was also a first time fighter in MMA and won in 57.6 seconds in the first round!

Haley's trainer is Richard Roddy from Center, Texas and she now has a MMA record of 1-0-0. She is the wife of Joey Haley and they live in Joaquin, Texas.

Eloisa Jimenez, Evolution MMA, (0-0) Vs. Sunshine Haley, Team Dog Pound (0-0)

Round 1: Haley opens with a storm of punches, closing to clinch. Jimenez turns and escapes taking punches the whole way. Haley gets a single collar tie and dirty boxes. Both women throwing punches, with Haley landing consistently. Ref stops the fight.

4th Annual San Antonio Rodeo Jr. Shootout


Lance Holloway placed 2nd in the rodeo challenge and also runner up in Lewis Class 2 trap.

February 23, 2016 - The 4th Annual San Antonio Rodeo Jr. Shootout was held at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio February 18-21. This is the richest youth shoot in the country with almost half a million dollar worth of scholarships and prizes given to the youth shooters. The shoot is open to 4H and FFA shooters who competed in shooting contests the previous year. Shelby County 4H Shooters had six competitors. They were Hagan Craig, Tucker Scarber, Lance Holloway, Colton Gutermuth, Logan Holloway & Konner Windham. Over the course of the week shooters participated in a 50 target Super Sporting, a 100 target Rodeo Challenge, the 100 target scholarship trap shoot and a 100 bird scholarship sporting clays.

We are very proud of all of our shooters many scoring their personal best in several events. We would like to thank Hawkeye Hunting Club for allowing us to practice at their facility.  We would like to say Congratulations on a job well done representing Shelby County.
