May 25, 2022 - Memorial Day is Monday, May 30th , 2022. United States Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until noon. All banks, schools, businesses, government offices and citizens that fly a US Flag that can be lowered are asked to please do so in honor of those Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice. All other flags flying with the US Flag should also be lowered.
May 3, 2022 - Each year the World War II Allies remember May 8th, 1945, the date when they accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany. Adolf Hitler committed suicide during the Battle of Berlin so the surrender of Germany was authorized by his replacement, President of Germany Karl Donitz.
May 2, 2022 - The “Gold Star Banner” or service flag honors a family that has had a service member die during a period of war or hostilities. The Gold Star represents “sacrifice to the cause of liberty and freedom.”
