December 3, 2021 - The 80th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021. United States Flags and all others flying with are to be lowered in respect at sunrise and raised at sunset the same day.
If you have an outdoor flag that cannot be lowered, respect for the day can be shown by tying a black ribbon or cord at the top of the mast. It is permissible to lower the flag the night before.
November 24, 2021 - VFW Post 8904 and the Auxiliary, Center, Texas proudly announce Lucinda David, 7th grade student at Joaquin Jr. High School as their post Patriot’s Pen essay contest winner. She received a PP Medal, framed certificate and check for $100 from Post Sr. Vice Newton Johnson, Jr.
November 12, 2021 - On November 10, 2021 VFW Post 8904 Life Member Michael Wulf joined the Center Garden Club at the Blue Star Memorial and placed their Memorial Wreath in honor of Veterans Day.

October 19, 2021 - On Sunday morning, October 23, 1983 at 0622 hours, two truck bombs, detonated by suicide bombers struck a Marine compound in Beirut, Lebanon that housed 300 service members of the Multination Force during a peacekeeping operation in the Lebanese Civil War. Killed were 220 Marines, 18 sailors and 3 soldiers making this incident the deadliest single-day death toll for the US Marine Corps since the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.
