February 9, 2022 - Andy Cook was born in the far east Texas town of Center, Shelby County on February 16, 1895 to Iris Curry and Hilliard Cook. Their last name is spelled Cooks in some places. He grew up in a large family of eight known siblings. When he was six years old the family was living on a farm in Smith County, Texas.

January 3, 2022 - Isaac Alexander Samford (sometimes spelled Sanford) was born in Center, Shelby County, Texas to Matilda Jane Potts and James Kaufman Samford. He, like many of that time, grew up on a farm with a large family of six sisters and five brothers.
December 6, 2021 - A presidential proclamation has been issued honoring the life of Robert J. Dole who passed December 5. All United States Flags and those flying with it should be lowered to half staff until sunset, Thursday, December 9, 2021. If you have an outdoor flag that cannot be lowered respect can be shown by tying a black ribbon or cord to the top of the mast.
December 3, 2021 - The 80th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021. United States Flags and all others flying with are to be lowered in respect at sunrise and raised at sunset the same day.
If you have an outdoor flag that cannot be lowered, respect for the day can be shown by tying a black ribbon or cord at the top of the mast. It is permissible to lower the flag the night before.
