September 2, 2020 - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is offering a great opportunity for those interested in 4-H Shooting Sports. 4-H Shooting Sports Coaches Certification Training will be held September 19 and 20, 2020 at the incredible Hawkeye Hunting Club facility here in Shelby County. New Report Helps Agricultural Producers Navigate Federal Coronavirus Food Assistance Program

May 28, 2020 - On May 19, 2020, USDA released details of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). CFAP’s $19 billion package contains two primary components. First, USDA will partner with regional and local distributers to purchase $3 billion in fresh produce, dairy and meat and provide those commodities to those in need. The bulk of the program is designed to provide $16 billion in direct support to farmers and ranchers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As family and friends break free from shelter in place orders and begin to plan their Memorial Day celebration, we encourage you to plan while you can and designate a sober ride. Impairment begins with the first drink. Texas law enforcement officers will be out in force during the Memorial Day weekend looking for impaired drivers.

March 6, 2020 - The 2020 Shelby County Livestock Show was held Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Shelby County Expo Center with 4-H and FFA students from all over Shelby County competing.

The sale will be held Saturday, March 7th, at the John Dean Windham Civic Center. The Bar-B-Que for the buyer’s and exhibitors will start at 6pm followed by the auction at 7pm at the Windham Civic Center.
