March 3, 2020 - Shelby County 4H Juniors - Jacie Lee, Camille Greer, Carter Greer, and Hannah Wages attended Livestock Judging contests in San Antonio. They also attended the East Central FFA contest, as well as the San Antonio Livestock Exposition.

January 23, 2020 - It is almost Summer and time to get your body beach ready!!! Become the biggest loser in Shelby County — of weight, that is. There will a CASH prize for the top winner. Prizes will be awarded to the most successful competitors in the county’s weight loss and physical fitness program.

January 17, 2020 - While February is best known for Valentine’s Day, did you know that it is also American Heart Month? This February, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in partnership with the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Health & Fitness Fair Committee recommends giving your heart love, too, by being aware of heart problems and the steps you can take to prevent them.

Cattle producers should be mindful of a common pest – lice – in their herd. Longer winter coats on cattle provide ideal conditions for populations to grow and become a problem that can hurt herd health and producers’ profitability. 

November 18, 2019 - The Texas Parks and Wildlife Whizbang finals were held at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio on October 26. To qualified for the finals a 4H shooter must participate in a minimum of six county shoots throughout the 2018-2019 4H calendar year.
