August 4, 2016 - The East Texas Poulty Festival is highlighted by the 4-H/FFA Broiler show and Auction that will be held on October 08.  As 4-H and FFA members and families are beginning to get ready for their chickens, questions may come to mind.  How big to make my pen?  How many fans do I need?  When do I raise my feeders and waterers?  These questions and many more will be addressed at the Shelby County Broiler Show Workshop.  

July 27, 2016 - On Monday, August 1st, The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Shelby County office and Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee will kick-off an individual and worksite wellness challenge for the county.

July 18, 2016 - 2016 Poultry Festival 4-H/FFA Show Broiler Orders Taken. Are you a youth in grades 3rd through 12th and interested in showing chickens at the upcoming East Texas Poultry Festival?  The Shelby County 4-H Poultry project offers many activities to youth of all ages.

July 16, 2016 - The “Texas Food Establishment Rules (TFER)” was revised, updated and was effective October 11, 2015. A major change in the revision now requires ALL food employees to complete an accredited food handlers training program within 60 days of employment, effective September 16, 2016.
