June 21, 2016 - Loren Vandrovec of the Shelby County 4-H Horse project traveled to Athens, Texas June 14th to compete in the East Region 4-H Horse Show. The horse show consists of Districts 4 and 5 with over 40 counties participating.
June 16, 2016 - The 21st Annual Houston County Whizbang was held in Crockett on Friday and Saturday, June 10th and 11th. Every Shelby County 4-H Shooter came home with medals!
June 7, 2016 - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer a Safe Sitter course for young teens 10 and up on Thursday, July 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the active Shelby County Courthouse, 2nd floor meeting room.
June 3, 2016 - A food handler’s course, accredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services, is being offered by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Food Safety: It’s In Your Hands will be offered by the Shelby County Extension Office on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
May 31, 2016 - A Beef Quality Assurance training will be held on Tuesday, June 21 in Center. The training is a collaborative effort between the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and Texas Beef Council.
June 3, 2016 - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Nacogdoches County, is offering a professional food manager certification training course. This 2-Day program will be offered for $125.00 on Monday, June 27th, and Thursday June 30th 2016 at the Nacogdoches County Annex Building on 203 West Main Street in Nacogdoches Texas at 8:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. Cost includes training, materials, and a national food manager certification examination. The food manager’s certification will be valid for five years.
