David's Daily Devotion for June 22

June 22, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Thursday, June 22.

I'm old school when it comes to writing. This daily devotion ends up on my computer, but it begins on a yellow pad, written by a pen. And not just any pen. It has to be the "Pilot Precise Rolling Ball V5 Extra Fine"! I'm not that particular about most things. If my coffee is hot, that's good enough for me. And if a car gets me where I need to go, I don't care that much about what it looks like. But when it comes to pens - there's only one choice. There is no substitute.

David's Daily Devotion for June 19

June 19, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Monday, June 19.

Today is a federal holiday that celebrates freedom. Growing up in Texas, I've always known about "Juneteenth." On this day in 1865 in Galveston, a general named Granger read the Emancipation Declaration. President Lincoln had declared freedom for the slaves two and a half years earlier, but news traveled slowly back then.

David's Daily Devotion for June 13

June 13, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, June 13.

Each Sunday evening our church family meets for a time of fellowship, praise and worship, testimony, prayer, and a Bible study from our interim pastor, Dr. Tim Watson. Last Sunday night, Bro. Tim's text was Matthew 13:1, a verse that I didn't remember hearing before. It says this - "And on that day, Jesus went and sat by the sea."

David’s Daily Devotion for June 12

June 12, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Monday, June 12.

On June 12, 1942, a young girl turned thirteen. One of her birthday gifts was a small book with a lock on the front, a diary. She began writing in it that very first day, but wondered how the happenings of her humdrum life could ever fill its' pages. Less than a month later, the life of Anne Frank changed forever.

*I John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
