November3, 2020 - The Center Police Department is once again investigating the vandalism and attempted theft of a local bank automated teller machine (ATM) as of Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
October 30, 2020 - Center First United Pentecostal Church Pastor Andy Wilson and his family were welcomed home by church members gathered outside of the church in Center on Hurst Street Friday, October 30, 2020.
October 29, 2020 - The Timpson City Council agreed to move forward with planning for work on the sidewalk at the corner of Austin and Bremond Streets during their meeting October 26, 2020; however, their decision didn't exactly align with the approval of the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) decision.
Immediately following the completion of the EDC meeting, the Timpson City Council convened and Mayor Debra Smith informed the council of the EDC decision to move forward with Cox Contractors handling the project at an expected possible cost of $38,000.
October 28, 2020 - (EDC Articles of Incorporation) - The Timpson Economic Development Corporation discussed possible funding of a sidewalk project at the intersection of Austin and Bremond Streets during their meeting held Monday, October 26, 2020. This is in front of the new location of the Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace office.
October 28, 2020 - A new communications console for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department has been OK'd by the County Commissioners, and at an even lower rate than originally projected during their emergency meeting held Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
October 27, 2020 - Shelby County Commissioners addressed the dire need of replacement radio dispatch equipment during an emergency session held Monday, October 26, 2020.

October 20, 2020 - With Shelby County finding a new location to house the Justice of the Peace and Constable for Precinct 5, the City of Timpson is finding this scenario to have developed into an expensive wrinkle.
October20, 2020 Center Police Officers were called to a local motel located on Hurst Street in Center Saturday, October 17, 2020 where a body had been discovered around noon.
The individual who was found deceased in the motel room was identified as a 64-year-old white female who stayed for three days and was scheduled to leave Saturday; however, management found her in the room.
At this time the body has been sent to Tyler for an autopsy and no foul play is thought to have occurred.
