August 17, 2016 - The M.P. Baker Library will host Remembering 9/11with special speaker Dr. Alex Korniyenko on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Murphy-Payne Community rooms of the library. Dr. Korniyenko is a cardiologist with Tyler Cardiovascular Consultants. He is affiliated with six hospitals in the East Texas area and visits Carthage regularly to see patients at the local ETMC offices. Dr. Korniyenko began his medical career as an EMT with the New York City Fire Department.
August 9, 2016 - The Panola College Workforce and Continuing Education division is offering a Phlebotomy program beginning August 22, 2016. The class meets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. on the Carthage Campus. Preregistration is required. August 8, 2016 - On August 18, 2016, Panola County Chamber of Commerce, Panola College Board of Trustees and community members will gather to enjoy refreshments and perform a ribbon cutting at 10:00 am for Panola College’s newly renovated Roy Monk Building. The Roy Monk Building was originally built in 1965, and at that time the Building featured a lecture hall, labs, classrooms, and eight faculty offices.
August 4, 2016 - The Panola College Workforce and Continuing Education division is offering a Spur and Gear Making class from August 25 – September 29, 2016. The class will be held each Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Center campus. The cost of the class is $300.00 and pre-registration is required. July 28, 2016 - Panola College head men’s basketball coach Grant McMillan has announced their 2016 recruiting class. This past year the Panola men won the most games in school history registering 24 wins. Last year’s squad made it to the Region 14 Conference Championship Game and featured four division-one signees. The Ponies will return four players off of last year’s squad.
