Three Ponies Sign with D1 University Basketball Teams

May 16, 2016 - Three Panola College Ponies basketball players have signed to play with D1 schools. Charles “Cha Cha” Tucker, Jr., will attend Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. He was first team All-Region and first team All-Conference in Region XIV play.

Johnathan Wiley will play for Southern Illinois University. He earned honorable mention honors in All-Region Conference.

Panola College Honors Retirees

May 5, 2016 - On Wednesday, May 4, 2016 Panola College held a retirement ceremony to honor three longtime employees Mr. Ernie Davis, Mrs. Kathy Pate, and Mrs. Shirley Ingram. Together these retirees accumulated 81 years of experience. Dr. Greg Powell, President of Panola College, presented each retiree with a token of appreciation and thanked them for their many years of dedicated service.

State Awards $580,000 grant to Panola College Nursing Program

May 5, 2016 - The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board awarded a $580,000 grant to the Panola College Associate Degree Nursing program as part of a statewide program to alleviate a shortage of nurses in the future. The 84th Texas Legislature appropriated funds for the Professional Nursing Shortage Reduction Program as a means to assist nursing programs in filling the future need for registered nurses in the state’s workforce.

Panola College Sweeps Paris Junior College Three Games to None

May 3, 2016 - Panola’s pitching and offense were outstanding on the weekend.  Panola’s offense scored 29 runs in three games while Panola’s pitching allowed only 5 runs to cross the plate in the series.  Panola is now 38-13 on the season and 18-9 in conference play.  

Panola will wrap up conference play this weekend vs #18 Navarro College.  Game one is scheduled for 3pm in Carthage, Game two and three are scheduled for Saturday in Corsicana for a double header starting at 2pm.     

Panola Sweeps Northeast Three Games to None

April 27, 2016 - The #19 ranked Panola College Ponies Swept conference opponent Northeast Texas Community College Eagles last weekend by outscoring NETCC for a combined 40 runs in three games. Panola took game one 9-8, game two 18-0, and game three 13-5. Panola is now 35-13 on the season and 15-9 in conference play. Panola currently sits in 2nd place in Region-14 East Zone Conference play.

Game #1
Pitcher’s had a tough day during the game between Panola and Northeast, as the two teams put up 17 runs combined in a 9-8 Panola College win.
