He continued in prayer and ended in prayer (Luke 23:34). The Heavenly ministry of Jesus was begun in prayer (John 14:16) and is now continued in prayer (Hebrews 7:25)

Across the Preacher’s Desk: Two Gates

March 1, 2024 - According to the teachings of Jesus, every person is going through one of two gates. Either they are choosing to enter the narrow gate and the narrow way or they are choosing the broad way which leads through the broad gate.

Of course, these two ideas represent two ways of life. One represents the way of good while the other represents the way of evil. The thought taught by Jesus in Matthew 7 is that more people will follow the easy, popular way of life than the one prescribed in the scriptures.

February 8, 2024 - This coming Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will square off in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. When the dust settles, one team will be victorious. To be sure, every human being delights in victory and it is a natural desire to win. When Paul wrote to the Corinthians he penned these words; "But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ:” (I Corinthians 15:57) In that passage we are promised victory.
