Timpson Lady Bears Softball Field on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 –

The Shelbyville Lady Dragons varsity softball team improved their season mark to 19-7 with a 5-2 run District 23-2A softball win over the Timpson Lady Bears (16-5).

Shelbyville went up 2-0 runs in the top of the first inning when Kylie Snell singled to leftfield and Carsey Lovell then doubled to leftfield. Snell was driven in to score on a Lanie Bass single and then Lovell scored on a base hit to leftfield by Cori Lawson.

Timpson scored their first run in the bottom half of the first inning when Ceale Kruse reached base on a fielder’s choice and later scored to cut the Dragon’s lead to 2-1 on an error on a ball put in play by Claire Ham.

Timpson loaded the basepaths in the bottom of the fourth inning and Ashlyn Foster scored to tie the game at 2-2 when Kaylee Ham hit a long sacrifice fly to the outfield.

Runs by Lovell and Bass in the top of the fifth inning gave SHS a 4-2 run advantage. Lovell scored another run in the top of the seventh by doubling to centerfield and then scoring on a fielder’s error on a Lanie Bass grounder. This gave the Lady Dragons a 5-2 run lead which held up for the remainder of the contest.

Kaylee Ham pitched the first two innings for THS and struck out two batters and gave up five hits. Ashlyn Foster pitched five innings and struck out eight batters and gave up six hits.

Taylor Jones pitched the first four innings for SHS and struck out four and walked one while giving up four hits. Lanie Bass came in as the relief pitcher and struck out three batters and gave up a single base hit in three innings.

Timpson will next head to Woden on Thursday, April 17, 2025 for a 5:30 p.m. game at Lady Eagles Ballpark.

Shelbyville will host Joaquin on Thursday, April 17 for a 5:30 p.m. game at Lady Dragons Ballpark.

April 14, 2025 - The Center Roughriders -- Hudson Hornets series is scheduled for tonight, April 14, 2025 at 7pm, or immediately following the JV game. The Pregame Show will begin ten minutes before first pitch. (The second game is scheduled for Thursday night.)

Joaquin Rams Ballpark on Friday, April 11, 2025 –

The Joaquin Rams took a 19-2 run loss at home to the Timpson Bears on Friday. The Bears gained a 3-0 run lead in the top of the second inning with scores from Seth Duke, Jackson Holloway, and Alexis Castillo. Joaquin answered in the bottom of the second inning with scores from Tate Bass and Carter Graves which cut the Bear’s lead to 3-2.

The Bears added on to their lead throughout the game but entered the sixth inning with an 8-2 run advantage. Timpson rallied to bring 15 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs to balloon their lead to 19-2 despite the Rams using 3 pitchers to stop their offensive. Seth Duke shut down Joaquin in the bottom of the sixth by striking out the first three Rams batters he faced in the bottom of the sixth to end the game. Duke stuck out eleven batters, gave up just three hits and walked five. He also drove in five runs on four hits. Timpson had 12 hits on the day.

Joaquin is now 4-7 in District 23 2A and 9-9 overall and they will next face the San Augustine Wolves at Rams Ballpark on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 6 p.m.

Timpson is 3-7 in District 23 2A and 10-7 overall. They will host the Shelbyville Dragons on Tuesday, April 15 at 6 p.m.

Timpson Bears Ballpark on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 –

The Timpson Bears varsity baseball team fell to the visiting Garrison Bulldogs by a 13-2 score on Tuesday. The game was a District 23 2A game and gives the Bears a 9-7 season record and a 2-7 conference mark. Garrison is 20-3 overall and they hold a 10-0 district mark.

Timpson gained the first lead when Conner Crawford reached base to start the bottom of the first inning and Cole Bruister homered to leftfield with one out to give Timpson a 2-0 run lead early.

Garrison tied the game at 2-2 runs in the top of the second inning with scores from Shelton Beavers and Jack Richardson.  Sam Adkinson hit a solo homerun in the top of the third frame which gave GHS a 3-2 run advantage.

Garrison batted around in the top of the fourth frame and they extended their lead to 7-2. The Bulldogs brought ten batters to the plate in the top of the fifth inning and they were able to extend their lead to 13-2 runs over the Bears. The bottom of the fifth frame saw the Bulldogs defense hold and the 11-run lead ended the game by 10-run mercy rule.

The Bears will head to Joaquin on Friday, Aprill 11 for a 6 p.m. district game with the Rams. Joaquin lost at home to the Gary Bobcats by a 6-2 score on Tuesday.

Lady Roughriders Horseshoe Ballpark on April 4, 2025 –

The Center Lady Roughriders varsity softball team improved their season mark to 5-19 with a 11-9 run home win over the Palestine Lady Wildcats on Friday. The win gives the Lady ‘Riders a 1-6 District 17 4A and keeps them alive with three conference games remaining.

Center held Palestine scoreless in the top of the first inning and they gained a 3-0 run advantage in the bottom of the first frame when they got scores by Destiny Arcibar, Madison Crawford and Harmony Berry.

Bella Adkinson led off the bottom of the second inning with a double to centerfield and she put CHS up 4-0 when she scored later on a passed ball.

Caitlyn Broussard doubled to drive in Adkinson and Crawford which gave CHS a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the third inning.

Emma Estrada doubled to drive in Wildcats teammates Vivian Eckerman and Kaddison Sanchez to tie the game at 6-6 in the top of the fourth inning.

Center regained the lead when Crawford, Bailey Miller and Kasandra Moreno each scored to give Center a 9-6 lead by the end of the fourth frame.

Rachel Newton and Lauren Causey led off the bottom of the fifth inning with back-to-back singles and they each scored on balls which got behind the Lady Wildcats catcher which gave CHS a 11-6 lead.

PHS scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to cut Center’s lead to 11-9 but Center’s defense held the Lady Wildcats scoreless for the remainder of the game to earn the win.

Lady Roughriders pitcher Autumn Bennett gave up 11 hits, struck out 4 batters and walked three to earn the win.

Palestine used 4 pitchers who combined to strike out 1, walk 9 and give up 8 hits.

Center will host Madisonville next Tuesday, April 8, 2025 for a 6:45 p.m. District 17 game at CHS.

April 4, 2025 - Center's Baseball and Softball game times have been adjusted due to weather for today, April 4th.

Center will play varsity only beginning at 4:30pm.

Lady Rams Take 13-0 Run District Softball Win over Lady Owls

The Joaquin Lady Rams varsity softball team improved their overall win-loss record to 22-5 with a 13-0 run home win over the Chireno Lady Owls on Tuesday.

Landry Balkcom got the shutout win for Joaquin and allowed only three hits, she walked one and struck out 11 batters. The Lady Rams were able to hit safely 12 times.

The main damage was done during a JHS rally during the bottom of the second inning which saw the Lady Rams bring 13 batters to the plate and they scored ten runs during the inning. Halle Bonner and Ellie Anglin each hit solo homeruns during the inning and scored twice each before the second frame was completed.

Joaquin is currently on a 11 game winstreak. They will head to Woden on Friday, April 4, 2025 for a 5:30 p.m. first-pitch at Lady Eagles Ballpark. Woden won at Timpson last week by an 8-2 score.

March 31, 2025 - Shelbyville Varsity Softball Game has been changed from Tuesday April 1 to Apri 2 at Woden at 5:30pm.

Shelbyville Varsity Baseball Game that was cancelled on March 28 with San Augustine has be rescheduled for Wednesday, April 2 at 5:00pm
