The Shelbyville Dragons varsity baseball season has come to an end as they lost a best-of-three game elimination series to the Centerville Tigers on Saturday. The playoff was both a Texas UIL Class 2A Region III Championship, and in effect, the State Quarterfinal round. Game 1 on Thursday saw the Dragons come out on top with a 3-2 run win. Game 2 on Saturday saw the Tigers take a 9-8 win and force Game 3 less than an hour later. With two narrow one run games going each way it is no surprise Game 3 was a 10-9 run thriller. Unfortunately, Centerville took the win and will move on to face Schulenburg in the State Semifinals next week. Shelbyville posted a 25-9-1 mark for this season.
