February 23, 2026 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society welcomed their friend, Scott Sosebee, as their speaker January 21, 2026, in the Timpson Public Library annex. His subject, just in time for the Superbowl, was “Lamar Hunt and Bud Adams: Two Texans Start a league to Challenge the NFL” Mr. Sosebee, a history professor at SFASU, is Executive Director of the East Texas Historical Association as well as serving as Executive Editor of East Texas Historical Journal. Included in his resume are several published works and collaborations.

January 16, 2026 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society (TAGHS) is pleased to announce our friend, Scott Sosebee, will be back to address our group Wednesday, January 21, at 2PM in the Timpson Public Library annex. Just in time for the Superbowl, Scott's topic is "Lamar Hunt and Bud Adams: Two Texans Start a League to Challenge the NFL".

October 10, 2025 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society,  guests and members, will enjoy a collaboration between Zoie Whitton and Dow McWilliams Wednesday, October 15, at 2pm in Timpson Public Library annex. 

August 28, 2025 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society was honored to be the first group to which Bill O'Neal introduced his new book, "Miles City: Rollicking Cow Capital of the Montana Frontier". He addressed the Society August 20 in the Timpson Public Library annex.

July 9, 2025 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society is pleased to welcome Alease Copelin as our speaker Wednesday, July 16, at 2pm in the Timpson Public Library annex. 

Mrs. Copelin asked to be introduced simply as a member of the Shelby County Historical Commission. However, many people will recall her days as an educator at the Timpson school. She will guide us through a virtual tour of "The Historic Houses of Center Texas". As a child, I enjoyed seeing some of these houses decorated for Christmas.
