October 19, 2018 - Calling all Shelby County youth and parents! Have you ever wanted to learn something new and different while having fun? Well we have it, from cooking, taking pictures, fashion, robotics, shooting sports, raising and showing livestock and much, much more for youth 3rd through 12th grades. Youth members may join now until October 31st for a $20 participation fee. Price changes November 1st to $25. Adults pay a $10 volunteer applicant fee. An active enrollment is required in order to register and participate in all 4-H activities and events.

October 9, 2018 - The 2018 East Texas Poultry Festival Broiler Sale was an all-time record sell bringing over $157,500 with the grand champion pen of broilers selling for $10,000.00.
September 12, 2018 - We’ve had some days where high temperatures did not reach 90. We have also received some much needed rain that put a smile on many peoples face. I can’t wait for fall to get here.
And as we’ll talk about for the home landscaper, I want to emphasize the point that fall is a great time to get big items planted.

August 28, 2018 - At the recent 4-H Kick-off event, Shelby County Extension agents Lane Dunn and Jheri-Lynn McSwain presented Garrett Lewis and Joshua Clark with the 4-H “I Dare You” award.
