David's Daily Devotion for March 20

March 20, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, March 20.

Happy First Day of spring! Welcome to the Vernal Equinox. Equinox is Latin for “equal night.” On this day in March, and at the Autumnal Equinox in September, the periods of light and darkness are approximately the same. This happens each year in the Northern Hemisphere. But down south everything is opposite. Our amigos in Argentina are saying goodbye to summer today, and hello to fall. It’s a fascinating world we live in.

March 19, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, March 19.

Tomorrow we’ll complete our six-part series on creation and the Creator. And it will be the first day of spring! Not exactly in the top tier of holidays. No special songs or special food. No parties or presents.  No Hallmark cards. Not even time off work. The first day of spring is in the second tier of holidays - like Columbus Day, Earth Day, Arbor Day, Groundhog Day. But it can be a special day if we let it remind us of our Creator and His creation.

March 17, 2025 - Good Morning!  It’s Monday, March 17.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We continue with our six-part series on the Creator and His creation, which will end this Thursday, the first day of spring. Our focus this morning is on the theological term “general revelation”. This is the idea that God reveals Himself, reveals His nature, through natural things - like His creation.

March 12, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, March 12.

On March 12, 1933 - 92 years ago tonight - a man sat down at a microphone and spoke to 60 million friends. Over the next twelve years, President Franklin Roosevelt would make many of these radio broadcasts, known as “fireside chats”, and he would always begin with the words, “My friends . . .”

David's Daily Devotion for March 11

March 11, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, March 11.

In 1922, the New York Herald newspaper published an article titled “What the World Will Look Like in One Hundred Years”. They chose novelist W. L. George to write it. Never heard of him? Few have. And even fewer have read one of his novels. But you have to admit, the man knew a thing or two about predicting the future.

David's Daily Devotion for March 10

March 10, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, March 10.

We wake this morning to a world filled with division, to a culture characterized by the drawing of battle lines instead of the search for common ground. People with different views or backgrounds are too often reduced to negative stereotypes, turned into caricatures that can easily be derided and dismissed. It is a culture that threatens to consume us.
